Just went to the grocery...

And I only intended to buy maple syrup, cotton balls and bread.

But when I set foot in the grocery section, I started to roam around and picked up some new items. I only paid a P1,500 worth of groceries today, and went home with 4 bags. Hehehehe...

Since I started to do this chore, I am the happiest person whenever I am at the grocery. As much as possible, I only buy the essentials since I have a limited budget. But since I do have an extra 'budget' to buy the things that I want therefore, I tend to hoard some items.

Well, it's not really hoarding but I do buy items that are important and our staple needs at home like detergents, condiments, milk, cheese, eggs and some fruits and vegetables.

Sometimes, I do get envious of people who buy a lot of things in the grocery. Pero naiisiip ko din naman that I don't have to buy everything since dalawa naman kami sa bahay. Well, because of my splurge, some foods and even canned goods have reached their expiration dates. That is why it is important to check the expiration date and the quality of the goods, especially the canned ones. It shouldn't have dents because it is an indication of oxidation and it might not last until its expiry date.

So far, I've been doing my grocery shopping religiously until the pandemic came. Most of the time right now, I shop online. I really don't want to go out nowadays. But during ECQ, a colleague has offered to carpool us. However as much as possible we do our groceries with few people to avoid exposure and infection.

I just hope to go back in our normal routine. Though I think I'd be wiser and more mindful of what to buy.
